find affiliate programsAre you stuck trying to find affiliate programs for your niche?

This may be a problem that you’re facing because you want to make sure you’ve chosen something that you can promote and is profitable….

Who doesn’t?

So the aim of this post is to help you find the best affiliate programs for your niche and your online business.

The first step you’re going to want to start with is brainstorming what products your visitors would actually want to buy.

Finding Affiliate Products Your Visitors Actually Want To Purchase

If your chosen niche is something you’re passionate about, then it’s likely that you’ll know the sorts of products that your niche audience will be interested in. This is a great starting point as you can find products you use and share that with people.

You can start this by creating a website/blog and sharing reviews on products that you own, and adding your affiliate link. If your niche involves physical products, then you may be able to find your chosen product on sites such as Amazon or eBay. You can join as an affiliate to these sites, and then create your in-depth review for your visitors. The same can be done for digital products using sites such as Clickbank.

Additionally, you can also use Amazon to find products that are in high demand in your niche by heading over to the “Bestsellers” section.

Another very useful method is doing Keyword Research.

How to Use Keyword Research To Find Affiliate Programs

Anyone looking to create a business online needs to understand keywords, and therefore you need a tool to help you find those keywords. Keyword research can help many online businesses such as Affiliate Marketing, Youtube, and eCommerce.

The tool I currently use and recommend is Jaaxy. This software offers a free trial, so is good for anyone who just wants to try it out for themselves.

Step 1: Find a niche

In order to start your affiliate business you need to find a niche. This will be the topic/subject you’ll be basing your business on. I personally recommend something you are passionate about or have an interest in.

How can Jaaxy help:

I definitely encourage anyone stuck on finding a niche to use the Jaaxy tool. This is because it makes it easier for you can find many niche ideas that you could venture into based on your passion or interest.

There are some niches that are just too broad, and very competitive, therefore your aim with affiliate marketing (or any other online business) is to find a niche that is more narrow and specific, but still relevant and popular.

What Jaaxy does is it brainstorms potential keywords for your niche, and lets you know how profitable they can be by showing you:

  1. How many searches are made monthly for the chosen keyword
  2. How much traffic that chosen keyword receives
  3. How many competing pages there are online for your chosen keyword. Based on the Jaaxy tool, a QSR under 400 has a good chance of getting ranked.
  4. How much quality there is for your chosen keyword in regards to marketing campaigns such as PPC (pay-per-click). Based on Jaaxy, a KQI that is green is a good quality keyword.
  5. How good your chosen keyword is for SEO rankings. This is beneficial because, if you can get higher rankings, then you have more chance of making money.

Step 2: Search for a domain name

The next step after choosing a niche is to search for a suitable domain name in order to build a website for your niche. With a website, you can create reviews and content for your chosen niche, and in time this will allow you to become an authority within your niche, and improve your earning potential.

Nowadays it’s really simple to create a website, either free or self-hosted, but before you get on to creating the website you need to search for that great domain name.

How can Jaaxy help:

Once you’ve got your list of keywords from the Jaaxy tool, you can do a quick search to see if the domain name is available for a specific keyword.

Taking a look at the image below, I’ve used “luxury dog beds” as a niche idea, which has generated lots of keywords. We can see that domain names are available for most of the keyword for this niche, and I could easily create a domain such as “luxurydogbedsforsmalldogs.com” and create an entire niche website on that keyword.

There’s an advantage to having a domain name that is keyword specific, which is that it could help boost your ranking for that keyword. However, it’s not completely necessary, and if you chose not to have a keyword specific domain, you can create a domain that’s not directly related to your niche. For example, OneMoreCupOf-Coffee.com is a site about Internet Marketing, but the domain name doesn’t have anything to do with Internet Marketing, however, the owner is still able to rank very well for his keywords on Google, and make money online with his website. Also, it’s catchy and brandable.

Ultimately, it’s up to you which style of domain name you choose, so long as you’re happy with the end results.

Purchasing a domain name isn’t expensive, and you can easily get a domain for approximately $10/year from Namecheap. (For hosting + domain packages, you could also easily get a deal from iPage for only $1.99 per month)

Step 3: Find Affiliate Programs

The final step is to find affiliate programs for your chosen niche. This is how you’ll be making your money on your niche website.

How can Jaaxy help:

Jaaxy has a great feature which allows you to find affiliate programs on sites such as Clickbank, Commission Junction, and LinkShare.

Using our niche idea “luxury dog beds”, we can find a number of programs available that we can use to find suitable products to promote. As you can see from the image below, once you make your niche search, Jaaxy will produce a list of different affiliate programs that may be suitable for your chosen niche keyword.

If you’re unable to find suitable affiliate programs on Jaaxy, then there are other methods you could try, such as:

  • Google search “niche + affiliate program”
  • Search other affiliate programs: There are some programs not listed on Jaaxy which can also be a good source of available affiliate programs, such as Affiliate Window, as well as Amazon and eBay (as mentioned above)
  • Search the product website footer for any links to an Affiliate Program

Final words

Finding affiliate programs for your niche doesn’t need to be a hard task, and with a program like Jaaxy, the process will be made easier because of all the useful features it has.

Jaaxy has many things to offer, and it makes doing keyword research much more rewarding. Since joining Wealthy Affiliate, and using the Jaaxy keyword tool I have been able to rank on Google for many of my keywords.

For example, I created a review of OfferNation, and I currently rank on 1st page of Google for two of my keywords and 2nd page for another one of my keywords. Jaaxy has a feature which allows you view your Google ranking.

Hey Stephanie,

As internet marketers selling products or services that we use are a must. I have made many mistakes over the years. Don’t just look for the highest paying offer. Some affiliate programs pay a lot but are very difficult to work with from an internet marketers standpoint. However, I want to stress the importance of promoting products that have a good reputation. People will remember it if you recommend garbage to them.

With Jaaxy it’s really my favorite keyword research tool. I have tried a lot of them out over the past eight years. Lots of them are twice the price, and the metrics are actually incorrect. I have spent hours using Jaaxy to find some higher traffic keywords with very low competition. I did have a question for you, though. How many keywords do you usually target for each article? Me, I tend to do 4-5 secondary keywords. Also, have you tried any other keyword research tools?

Lastly, when choosing a domain name, it’s important to pick something that people will remember. For instance, if you have a site on WordPress themes, might want to consider putting “themes” or WP in there. Not the best example, I know. True, as you pointed out OneMoreCupOfCoffee.com doesn’t have anything to do with coffee, instead of internet marketing. But, people remember it and that is the key.

Hi Garen, thanks for sharing your thoughts.

    In regards to your questions:
    1. I’m quite the same, I usually try to target 3-5 secondary keywords.
    2. I have tried a few other free keyword tools, such as the Wealthy Affiliate Keyword Tool and Ubersuggest. But overall, I prefer using Jaaxy. Sometimes I may use a few tools together to further expand my research

I agree about the domain names, I usually like a site to a site if the name is memorable. Like the other day, I saw a blog called “mypocketjingles.com”. It’s not a keyword based domain, but it’s memorable, and I quite liked it. And even keyword rich domains can still be memorable.

Thanks again Garen, all the best!

Finding a niche to promote can be tricky business if you don’t know what you are doing. Your Jaaxy suggestion is really useful. I have used Jaaxy for keyword research for articles but not for finding something to promote. Would you say it’s your most successful way of finding affiliate programs?

thank you for the article

Hi Suzanne, thanks for commenting. Jaaxy has been able to help me find affiliate programs for my niche quite well, and definitely recommend this method. I also use other methods like the ones listed towards the end of the article, such as, searching on Google and looking at the product website.

I tend to incorporate different methods for finding affiliate programs, but what I like about Jaaxy is that it has all these features in one place. So you can find really good niche keywords and find some great affiliate products to go along with them, without having to spend ages manually searching.

The Jaaxy affiliate program finder is probably better suited to beginners I think, but the option is also there for more experienced affiliate marketers.

I hope that helps answer your question. Let me know if you have any further questions.

    All the best!
